Hello, I'm Clare.

I'm passionate about helping holiday let owners create exceptional dog-welcoming stays that guests remember for all the right reasons.

My journey into dog welcoming hospitality began as the owner of an award-winning holiday cottage in the heart of the Lake District. Like many owners, I quickly discovered that welcoming dogs is about so much more than simply allowing pets through the door.  It's about understanding the needs of both the dogs and the people who love them, anticipating the little details that make a stay effortless, and creating an experience that guests can't wait to recommend and return to.

 

As the owner of five Irish Setters and a qualified canine behaviourist, I understand how dogs think, what they need to feel comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings, and the practical challenges owners face when travelling with them. This knowledge allows me to see a property through the eyes of both the guest and their dog, identifying opportunities that many people simply wouldn't notice.

Alongside my work with dogs, I've spent my professional career leading finance and business transformation projects for large international organisations. That experience has taught me how to analyse processes, solve problems, improve customer experiences and focus on the details that make a real difference. I bring the same structured, practical approach to reviewing holiday properties, combining business thinking with genuine empathy for your guests.

My advice is never about spending thousands of pounds or making unnecessary changes. Often it's the thoughtful, inexpensive improvements that have the greatest impact, helping guests feel welcomed, making dogs safer and happier, reducing wear and tear, improving reviews and encouraging repeat bookings.
